I have had two previous mats for my treadmill that were made of a soft, foam-like material. That seems to be what everyone carries. That might be fine but my cat thinks it’s a scratching pad and destroys them leaving black chunks of foam all over the house. This mat is great. It is solid and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t have an odor like most rubber mats do. The other great thing is this mat was less than half of anything I found like it in retail stores even with the shipping charges.
